Fees vary according to the location, the type and complexity of the vessel, and the required survey inspection. The figures below are indicative of our fees. Variations may apply where additional services are required. Example: Laboratory oil sample analysis or other specialized services. 

*Note: Travel fees are only charged at the exact cost, relevant to the actual survey we undertake. No additional fees are charged for travel. 

Surveyors' Inspection Fees: 

Timber hull + 10%

Catamaran Hull + 10% 

Pre-Purchase Condition Survey: 

Small recreational vessels <12m: $500 - $1300  

Medium recreational vessels <24m: $1300 - $2000 

Large vessels >24m-35m: $2000 - $3,500 

Super Yachts >35m: $3,500 +

Independent Insurance Appraisal: 

Small recreational vessels <12m: $500 - $1000  

Medium recreational vessels <24m: $1000 - $1500 

Large recreational vessels >24m-35m: $1800 - $2500

Super Yachts >35m: $2500 +

Machinery Condition Inspections:

Hourly rates apply.

Specialized Survey or Consultancy Fees:

Onsite Marine Consultants Fee: $150-$285 per hour. 

Professionally Prepared Report included as part of every Marine Inspection.

We provide pre-purchase vessel condition surveys, operational machinery inspections, insurance surveys, in and out-of-water inspections, motor or sail boat surveys, ship document audits and marine expert opinion services for legal representation. 

You can contact us by phone or email to request a survey. We reply to all emails within 24 hours. Simply jump over to our contact page and send us an email with your requirements. Note there is also an upload field, where you can attach a photograph of your vessel and any relevant ships particulars. This will enable us to respond with a more detailed estimate of our fees.  

The length of time for a survey depends on the size and complexity of your vessel. We will generally be able to provide an estimated timeline immediately after our initial discussion. As a guide, the average length of time required will be approx. 2-3 hours for a small boat. Where a survey includes in-water and out-of-water inspection, and sea trial (Pre-purchase inspection) additional time is required. Some survey inspections may take upwards of 6 hours. 

Our survey and marine consultancy services are available throughout Queensland, although our main base and focus is the Whitsunday region, including Airlie Beach, Shute Harbour, Mackay and Bowen. 

We are available to attend most marina locations within Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays, including Coral Sea Marina, Hawkes Boat Yard, Port of Airlie, Shute Harbour, Edges Boat Yard, and Mackay Harbour. We are also available to attend Bowen.
